About Us | What We Do
The National Association of Gateway Communities serves as a liaison with public land management agencies and gateway communities to facilitate decisions that sustain vibrant, healthy communities and America’s natural resources.
We work to develop relationships between community leaders, federal land management agencies, nonprofit organizations, state agencies and interested parties to identify solutions that balance sustainable community development with enduring, sustainable uses of America’s public lands.
Through effective communications with all interested organizations, we seek to increase the awareness of community leaders and decision makers of the unique relationship between agency decisions and community needs.
We facilitate the timely exchange of information to all parties to encourage informed, thoughtful decisions that sustain healthy economies, acknowledge the impacts of growth and sustain the conservation of natural resources.
Finally, we are a strong advocate for gateway communities, encouraging sound federal policies, legislation and resource decisions that are developed collaboratively with communities.
